Afterthoughts #6: A Lonely Road

So, this short journal’s purpose is to provide some more information for what was discussed on this update video:

However, it’s not necessary to watch it before reading this journal.

Anyway, I’ve been going through a sort of slump for the past few months due to a lack of success in getting a job, which depresses me and brings down my motivation for working on videos. I haven’t exactly been in the brightest of moods and I didn’t want to bother anyone about it, which is why I haven’t spoken to any of my friends since March. To keep myself from emotionally hitting rock bottom, my non-job-seeking time had been spent on playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, keeping up on watching new episodes of a couple TV shows, and planning out Sprite Chronicles: Time and Space. The result? I’ve reached 100% completion of Breath of the Wild and am eagerly waiting for the DLC to come out, one TV show ended and the other is on break, and around 80% of my original plans for Time and Space has been thrown out of the window and replaced by something simple, yet better. Despite all this, it would be nice if I can get some luck on the job-seeking.

I have also worked on Act 2 of Darkness and Light, but I haven’t made much progress because I’ve ran into a major technical problem. For the past couple months, my laptop’s screen sometimes freezes when the laptop overheats. On Memorial Day, the screen froze once again. The previous time it froze, it worked again after I waited a few minutes, so I decided to do that again this time. It didn’t work, so I restarted it. For whatever reason, this event caused my keyboard and touchpad to stop working. However, my USB ports still worked, so I’m still able to use my mouse, though I must use an on-screen keyboard to “type” anything out, including this journal. And trust me, it is not fun to do so since it is very time-consuming and easy to make typos. So, until I can get it fixed, I can’t work on any sprite videos without getting frustrated by how much of a hassle it is to “type” and use keyboard shortcuts with an on-screen keyboard blocking part of the screen.

Overall, I’m trying to shine a light down this lonely road and let everyone know I’m still here and I really need to break the habit of not giving an update after so many months of inactivity. Either way, with all that said and done, see you in the next journal.
